The essential problem...
After extensive research we have settled on the commonly disregarded issue of an immense lack of exercise within specifically sedentary working adults. Adults working desk jobs, spend the predominance of their day, sitting and manually working, and have a lack of time as a result of obligation, engagements, and prior responsibilities to a lot to exercise.
When researching the sources of the general lack of exercise and its determinants to human health as a result of a lack of time and availability, it is extremely important to understand how and where adults occupy the majority of their day. Obligations, engagements, and responsibilities are all obstacles in the average adult obtaining the healthful amount of exercise, the largest of which is work.
The rates and statistics of the average hours dedicated from each employed person working at their occupations is higher than it has ever been before. Jobs are becoming more and more demanding as technology and societal standards advance, and require an extremely high level of diligence, preparation, and assiduity, and therefore demands the predominance of a working adults day and their sitting at a desk. However, this leaves very little if not any time for necessary self accommodations such as exercise, a healthy diet, and sleep.
The average working adult spends approximately 8.5 hours working per day, not including the additional overtime work and preparations, and research done outside of the office, this statistic corroborates the fact that the majority of the average adult’s day is dedicated to work, and seeing as we want to develop an aid that will allow adults to obtain a healthful amount of exercise without having to dedicate a specific period of time of their day to it.
The lack of exercise is an issue that carries a abundance of importance both in terms of mental and physical health. Exercise, unlike other prescribed aids, has an immediate mental affect, improving one’s ability to focus, retain information, and operate at a higher level of intelligence. This is also an extremely disregarded issue and by focusing our CBL project around this, we can improve the health of an abundant amount of adults.
